...me

I started my copywriting career at Egg, one of the UK's first internet banks, back in 2001. Just a few months later, the sudden departure of the Senior Copywriter left me as sole copy resource and sign-off for the entire company. To say I learnt a lot in those few months would be something of an understatement; it made me the writer I am today.

After just over two years at Egg, and further five as a freelancer, I decided to take a bit of a career break, to work as a carer for people with autistic spectrum disorder, alongside starting up my own comedy greetings card business, Grinbin. We went on to be signed by Moonpig and Paperlink, selling over 100,000 cards, mugs and T-shirts.

In June 2010, an opportunity arose to combine my three core Cs - comedy, copywriting and charity - as a copywriter for Comic Relief. It was an incredibly varied and rewarding role which saw me write everything from websites, emails and social media, to educational materials, scripts and situational gags for an augmented reality app featuring Harry Hill's disembodied, floating head.

Nowadays, I'm a freelance senior copywriter specialising in charity, comedy, and augmented reality apps featuring Harry Hill's disembodied, floating head. Work's getting a bit thin on the ground for the latter though.

If you need a copywriter, and like my stuff, get in touch. Especially if you're a charity. You get mates' rates.
